So much about how we communicate with others, especially strangers, is laden with assumptions. My least favorite is the onslaught of one too many “Ladies…” from a server who means well, but simply doesn’t see ME: the proverbial death by a thousand cuts.
A statement piece, the GentleTHEM snapback at LEAST beckons folks who encounter it to engage. Gentle… huh? What does that… mean… oh… ah… 🤯… CLEVER.
On the more optimistic end of the scale, it gives the reader an opportunity to get your pronouns right. That said, YMMV. We simply cannot guarantee any fewer micro-aggressions, but the typeface is pretty damn cool.
