Yesterday, I published the closing #LastMondays playlist for 2024—a collection of some of the best new tracks in indie soul and what some like to call “alternative R&B.” I like to call it the “Majestic Diaspora.”
This month’s playlist opens on aspirational note with “Evolution” by dublon all the way from Oslo (Norway) + Deza, and closes on gratitude with “The Ancestors” from a Last Mondays regular, chromonicci.
It’s been a year of really great music, with an intentional emphasis on spotlighting promising up and coming artists, and I wanted to give a special nod to some of the amazing talent that made the list.

In 2025, I will look for more ways ways to materially support the musicians I love beyond the streams. We all know Spotify don’t pay creators their due. I hope some of them start to check out platforms like @formlessxyz – where they can have a more direct relationship to listeners like us and earn from their work.
